Kenneth Gavel is passionate about clearly articulating a biblically-faithful and theologically-sound understanding of holiness, both engaging and understandable to all followers of Christ. I am a theologian with a pastor’s heart and am passionate about biblical theology as a spiritual discipline and means of grace that the Holy Spirit uses to shape us into the image of Christ,” says Dr. Gavel.

I am deeply committed to seeing the transforming power of the Gospel fully manifested in the hearts and minds of all people and seek to teach that to my students here at Kingswood.

Ordained by the Atlantic District of The Wesleyan Church, Dr. Gavel and his wife Eileen served in pastoral ministry for twelve years. He first taught at Kingswood University from 1993 to 1995 then pursued further studies. His Ph.D. dissertation, The Triune Provider, explored ways of relating the Christian understanding of God as Trinity to the doctrine of God’s care of the world.

Since his return to Kingswood in 2000, Dr. Gavel has been instrumental in initiating the Bachelor of Theology degree and Kingswood’s first graduate degree the Master of Arts in Pastoral Theology.
