Kingswood Golf Classic 2025: A Record-Breaking Day of Impact

It was a spectacular fall day on Friday, September 5, as 108 golfers gathered at the Sussex Golf Course for the 29th annual Kingswood Golf Classic. More than just a tournament, this event is a powerful way to invest in the mission of Kingswood University by raising funds for financial aid and student scholarships.

This year was one for the history books—together, our golfers, sponsors, and supporters raised a record-breaking $81,000!

Celebrating Individual Achievement

The day was filled with friendly competition and remarkable performances:

  • Longest Drive (Hole #1): Peter Beckwith

The coveted Top Church Trophy went to Saint John First Wesleyan, who rallied six teams and raised more than $9,300 to support the cause.

Scholarships Named in Honour and Memory

One of the most meaningful outcomes of the Golf Classic is the creation of scholarships named by our top fundraising teams. This year, the top three fundraising teams earned the opportunity to make a lasting impact on students by awarding scholarships in honour or memory of loved ones:

  • $3,000 Scholarship – Hugh, Don, and Dave Memorial Scholarship
Named by Tony Benson’s team, raising over $9,000. This team included Linda McGuigan, Dave McCrea, Barry Grimmer, and Al Stewart.
