March 26 - April 4, 2019
Each spring, students will phone alumni and friends who believe in them and the mission of Kingswood. Why do we have a Phonathon? There are two primary reasons:
- Students are calling because we need your help. We want to keep quality Bible university education affordable, and we want them to answer God’s call with as little debt as possible. Accordingly, each year the university awards more than $250,000 in scholarship assistance from our general fund. Your response to the Phonathon makes this vital support possible.
- Students are calling to pray for you. Prayer is a vital part of their ministry preparation, and our students would be honoured by the opportunity to join you in praying for any needs and concerns you may have. Our entire campus will be joining us in making this year’s Phonathon a prayer campaign by praying for the requests we receive. We believe God answers prayer!
Through your partnership, Kingswood University is equipping men and women for a lifetime of service as leaders within the global Church.

The arrival of February means spring is getting closer. It also means our annual Phonathon is just around the corner.
This year we’re hoping to speak with you between March 13-27. We had great success with last year’s effort, raising $63,000, which is $5,000 more than the previous year.
One of the most exciting changes we’re making in Phonathon this year is in what happens to the money received. Every penny of what comes in will go directly to scholarships that are funded by the university.
In addition to directly lowering the cost of a Kingswood education, Phonathon provides a great opportunity for you to speak with a Kingswood student. Nothing did more to cement my commitment to Kingswood than meeting our students. I’m sure you’ll feel the same when you receive a call from one of our students.
You will hear their heart for God and their desire to answer His call on their lives. They’ll also be able to give you a student’s perspective on life at Kingswood.
We also want our students to hear what matters to you. They’ll even be happy to pray with you, if you would like. Every year I hear how these conversations have been a blessing to those calling and those called.
Be expecting a call from us some evening between March 13-27. If we miss you, we’ll try again later during that period.
We understand some prefer not to be called. If that’s you, that is not a problem. Just take a few minutes right now, if you would, and complete the enclosed response card. You can indicate the amount you would like to contribute and return it in the postage-paid envelope. Or you can give online at www.kingswood.edu/giving. Naturally, once we receive your gift, we won’t plan to call unless you request it.
We look forward to connecting with you. Expect a blessing as you converse with one of our wonderful students. In advance, let me thank you for helping make this year’s Phonathon our best yet.
For the King and Kingswood,
Stephen J. Lennox, Ph.D.
