Daniel serves as the Director of Athletics at Kingswood University, where he is passionate about building an athletics program that reflects the heart and mission of the university. With more than 15 years of coaching experience, he believes athletics can be one of the most powerful environments for developing character, leadership, community, and faith.
Growing up in Peterborough, Ontario, Daniel developed a love for sport and storytelling at an early age. He went on to graduate from Mohawk College with a diploma in Broadcast Journalism and Media Communications, experiences that helped shape his passion for connecting with people and telling their stories.
His journey to Atlantic Canada began with a summer job as a sea kayak guide, which helped pay his way through college. What began as an opportunity to work and explore a new part of the country quickly became a much deeper connection to the region. Through exploring the Maritimes, paddling the Bay of Fundy, and connecting with both locals and visitors from around the world, Daniel developed a deep appreciation for the people, stories, and sense of community that make Atlantic Canada so special. It was a place that ultimately became home to him, his wife, four children.
Daniel has coached athletes from youth basketball through high school varsity competition. Throughout his coaching career, he has emphasized the importance of enjoying the journey, pursuing excellence, encouraging teammates, and working hard both on and off the court. His approach to leadership is rooted in the belief that athletes are much more than their statistics or performance—they are people with unique gifts, stories, and God-given potential.
At Kingswood, Daniel is committed to creating a culture where student-athletes are known, valued, challenged, and loved. He believes that the pursuit of excellence and the pursuit of faith do not compete with one another, but can work together to shape young people into confident leaders who are prepared to serve others and make a lasting impact.
Daniel is excited to help build something special at Kingswood—an athletics program where competition matters, relationships matter more, and Christ remains at the centre of it all.
