Professor Jake loves Jesus, and loves to teach others about Jesus. Also, he loves to make disciples by teaching people to obey the commands of Jesus.

He is happily married to his wife, Laura, and they have five children. He can often be found hiking in the back woods, raising chickens and turkeys, reading Brandon Sanderson books, and swimming in creeks.

Professor Jake has been a pastor for 16 years in various roles: as an outreach pastor to drug addicts and the homeless, as a solo pastor of a small rural church, as a youth and worship pastor, and as a lead pastor in a larger suburban church. He has also been teaching as a professor at Kingswood for the last 3 years as an adjunct, before stepping into the Director of Praxis and Elements role this year.
