John was born way back in the last century in Dublin, Ireland. He met his wife on a Christian website and they have been married for almost 23 years. He has two sons, one of whom is in the army based in Gagetown, while the other is in Grade 12, preparing for graduation.
John has played and often still watches soccer (Liverpool FC is the only team in the world worth watching, even when they’re not) and has also been known to swim quite a bit. He has coached the now defunct Sussex Swordfish swim team in the past, and is currently the head coach of the small but mighty Petitcodiac High School Swim Team.
He also enjoys reading and writing, having had a book about his life with diabetes (Type 1) published about twenty years ago, and has also had various articles published in various magazines, such as Diabetes Ireland, the International Diabetes Federation’s magazine, Diabetes Voice. He also had a fictional short story published in a Canadian anthology some years past, Inkspots, and formerly taught creative writing as a night course at NBCC Moncton.
