Alumni Working Together
Rod Guptill (’81) & Gary Churchill (’73)
Rod Guptill and Gary Churchill were part of a mission team from the Atlantic District who travelled to Cuba to help with the construction of a new district centre and church in Camajuani. During the day the team of nine worked on the building, and at night they visited and preached in local churches. The team also held a kids camp program on the weekend which moved from having 44 children at the beginning to ending with 110 children in attendance. “A highlight of the trip was a foot washing we had for the kids on Sunday,” said Rod. “It was so moving even the parents allowed us to wash their feet.” Rev. Nehemias Cardenas is the national superintendent of the Wesleyan Agrarian Christian Fellowship of Cuba that became affiliated with The Wesleyan Church in 2010.
