“I love teaching at Kingswood because our work here has eternal significance,” says Dave Trouten, who has taught at all age levels. “It’s not just about giving students information; they can gather information anywhere. It’s not just about knowledge – the process of establishing purpose and connections between pieces of information. At Kingswood it’s about promoting wisdom, seeing information, and knowledge through the eyes of God.”

Professor Trouten’s favourite type of student is the Kingswood graduate who is out there serving God and making a difference, who then comes back to encourage the student body.

Professor Trouten networks regularly with writers, filmmakers, and actors in the Christian media arts world. He is also a contributing writer to the on-line parenting magazine Just 18 Summers and is on the Board of Directors for Gideon Media Arts Conference and Film Festival. Recently two of his plays have been staged for thousands in highly acclaimed productions, and a third The Message from Jacob Marley was staged in December 2015.

Professor Trouten enjoys writing, reading, watching great films, and spending time with his wife Virginia and their two sons.
