On October 23-24, pastors, worship leaders, musicians, and worshippers will gather at Kingswood for our 5th annual ENGAGE worship conference. Recently, we talked with Kingswood’s Director of Worship Elizabeth Rhyno to learn more about this year’s event. She is the founder and organizer of ENGAGE.
KU: What is the purpose of ENGAGE and who should consider attending?
- pastors who want to provide more meaningful opportunities for their congregations to worship,
- vocational and volunteer worship leaders who want be refueled for their work,
- musicians who want to grow in skill, and better understand what the point of worship really is, and
- individuals on worship teams who feel all alone in what they are doing.
ENGAGE is for them.
If you attend worship services, plan worship services, lead worship services, oversee worship leaders, or work alongside worship leaders – this event is for you.
KU: This year marks the 5th anniversary of ENGAGE. For those who have already attended at least one conference, they may be wondering how important it is for them to attend this year’s conference. What makes ENGAGE worth repeating?
Rhyno: Rather than being a one-time experience, ENGAGE is geared to continually fuel those in the trenches of worship ministry on an annual basis. While some speakers are consistent each year, there are also new teachers and leaders at each event whose desire is to invest in local church ministries and see God’s Kingdom advance.
Everyone needs refreshing in their life, and everyone can be a perpetual student, one who’s on a trajectory to grow and mature in their faith and in their ministry.
KU: What excites you about this year’s conference? Do you have any newcomers to the platform?
I’m excited to welcome Dustin Smith to ENGAGE for the first time. Dustin is an acclaimed songwriter and worship leader from Kansas City, MO, who has an immense heart for the Church. His leading is refreshing and strong, and his teaching is wise and encouraging. See more about Dustin Smith.
We encourage you to come and join us at ENGAGE. To find out more or to register, see ENGAGE.
This year’s speakers also include: Jennie Lee Riddle, Kim Butler, Tim Milner, Elizabeth Rhyno, Rev. Scott Rhyno, Dr. Betty Weatherby, Dr. Mike Tapper, and Rev. Kendra Higgs.
