Kingswood University Grant

Up to $1,000 for first year students and $500 for second-fourth year students

  • A limited number of grants are available to full-time, degree students who have significant financial need.
  • Recipients must maintain a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) to remain eligible for this grant.

Campus Visit Grant

Up to $800 upon enrolment

  • Available to students in grade eleven or twelve of high school who have had a campus visit to Kingswood University.
  • Recipients must live outside the provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island, or the state of Maine.

The Campus Visit Grant will be applied upon enrolment.

Church Matching Grant

Up to $500 per year

  • Available to full-time students when a local church, district, or denomination makes a contribution to the student’s account.
  • Kingswood will match the contribution up to $500 per year.
  • Funds contributed must not be from the parents or the student receiving the benefit.
  • Payments or stipends for any services rendered by the student are not eligible for matching.
  • After their initial year, recipients must maintain 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) to be eligible.
  • The Church Matching Grant form and funds to be matched must be received by Kingswood prior to January 31 of the applicable academic year.

Multiple Family Member Grant

$250-$750 per year

  • Available to full-time students with multiple family members enrolled at Kingswood.
  • Multiple members includes father, mother, unmarried dependent children, and husband/wife if they are married prior to enrolment.
  • After their initial year, recipients must maintain a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) to remain eligible for this grant.

Shepherd’s Grant

$500 per year

  • Available to all full time, dependent students of parent(s) who are under current appointment by The Wesleyan Church or comparable appointment by another denomination.
  • After their initial year, recipients must maintain a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) to be eligible.

Wesleyan Heritage Grant

$500 per year

  • Available to full-time students who are community or covenant members in good standing of a Wesleyan Church of North America.
  • Recipients must be recommended by a Wesleyan pastor from their local church.
  • After their first year, recipients must maintain a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) to remain eligible for this grant.

 Wesleyan Loan/Grant Program

  • Available to third year and fourth year Wesleyan students who are pursuing the ordination track with The Wesleyan Church.
  • The Director of Financial Aid will email all eligible students at the end of the first month of each semester.

Sussex Community Grant

  • Awarded to first year students who are currently residing in Sussex and have graduated from Sussex Regional High School, PALS, or Sussex Christian School or have been a long-term resident of the Sussex area.
  • Sussex area being the area from which students would normally attend Sussex High School.
  • Long-term resident is a resident who has lived in Sussex area for at least 10 years.
  • Recipient must be full-time and enrolled in a degree program.
  • To maintain this grant the recipient must achieve a 2.5 or higher cumulative grade point average (GPA) and will be reviewed at the end of each semester.
  • If the grant is lost, it will not be reinstated.
  • Amount of award is ½ of block tuition per semester.

MK (Missionary Kid) Grant

Four Year Renewable Grant – 1/2 block tuition each semester

  • This grant is restricted to dependent children of missionaries under current appointment.
  • Preference is given to dependent children of Wesleyan missionaries, recognizing the unique financial pressures facing families involved in overseas ministry.
  • A letter from the supervising missions organization stating the current status of applicant’s parents must accompany the application.
  • This is renewable providing the student maintains a 2.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and fully participate in the program.
  • The student must reveal a call into ministry along with appropriate gifts and graces.
  • The student must be in a degree program at Kingswood.
  • The student must be full-time resident who is considered an exemplary spiritual leader.
