Jacob (FS ’09) & Nikki (Gilbert ’09) Ebbett
Congratulations to Jacob and Nikki on the birth of their third child. Exekiel was born on April 8, 2013, weighing 7 pounds, 4 ounces and was 20 inches long. He has a sister named Azlee, who is four, and a brother named Israel, who is two. Jacob is the solo pastor of Havelock Wesleyan Church in New Brunswick, where they have been serving since 2010. Nikki says, “We have been very blessed in every way and are excited and grateful to be used by God and be able to serve.”
Meredith McLaughlin (’12)
While attending the First Assemblies of God Church in Niagara Falls, New York, Meredith was asked to help organize a children’s program for a missions team going to Haiti. Her assistance turned into Meredith leading the group on the trip. They organized a high-energy, gospel-centered children’s program that was used at different schools throughout the week. “Our program was unbelievably smooth for being in a foreign setting,” said Meredith who took the Cross Cultural Ministry class trip to St. Kitts when she was a student at Kingswood. “God took care of everything! And it was so helpful to have that past experience to build upon! Many kids made decisions to follow Jesus.” The other portion of their time was spent building school benches for a Christian school that will open in the fall.
Meredith is part of the leadership team at Generation Church, a church plant that was launched last September in North Tonawanda, NY (planted by Niagara Falls First Assembly). She is learning how to build a children’s ministry “from scratch.” Meredith also co-leads the church’s global missions program.
