Sussex, New Brunswick, May 1, 2017—This April 24, Allen Lee, director of Kingswood University’s Christian Counselling program, successfully defended his doctoral dissertation. Professor Lee has now earned a Ph.D. in Professional Counselling from Liberty University. His dissertation is titled “Ministry Longevity, Family Contentment, and the Male Clergy Family: A Phenomenological Study of the Experience of Ministry.” His thoughts on this experience:
It has been a wonderful process which began with several doctoral courses, an internship, a practicum, and finally dissertation writing. It is a journey that never would have happened without the support of my wife, children, extended family, and Kingswood family. I experienced many encouraging gestures to keep me motivated. Those included Kingswood students bringing me late-day Tim Horton’s coffee, iced cappuccinos, and Boston crème donuts. I have learned so much, and I thank God for this blessing!
President Lennox is thrilled about this new development: “Dr. Lee is a beloved member of the Kingswood faculty. We value his keen mind and his servant’s heart. We are excited for how this degree will better enable him to carry out his mission in and through our students.” Dr. Janet Starks, VP for academic affairs, added, “We extend our congratulations to Allen. His Ph.D. will give him greater insight into teaching and counselling future servant leaders for the Church.”
