Home Educated Students

Kingswood University welcomes home-educated applicants! Because all home school experiences are different, applicant files are reviewed on an individual basis. All applicants must meet the standard admissions requirements.

For academic review, applicants must submit an official high school transcript for grades 10-12 with the course names, credit values, and grades earned. This transcript may be generated by the parent/guardian primarily responsible for the home education or by an independent third party.

Supporting documentation to aid in assessing the transcript must be provided that indicates:

  • the curriculum or program used
  • course descriptions
  • assessment process (i.e. tests, assignments, etc.)

Additional information may be requested at the discretion of the Enrolment department.

Upon evaluation of the transcript, students may be required to submit one of the following as further evidence of readiness:

  • Third-party test results, such as SAT, ACT, or GED scores, sent directly to the University from the testing agency, or;
  • A college or university transcript showing courses taken as part of a homeschooling experience; where appropriate, transfer credit may be awarded for such courses.
